The 2015 Harvard Journal of Real Estate: Innovation in Practice published by the Harvard Student Real Estate Consortium (HSREC) features curated articles highlighting significant innovations in the real estate industry and practice. The diverse article contributors include multidisciplinary consortium of Harvard University student authors with accompanying reviews contributed by leading academic and industry practitioners.

The consortium of expert industry contributors include Toby Bozzuto, President of  The Bozzuto Group; Frederick Cooper, Senior Vice President – Finance, International Development and Investor Relations at Toll Brothers, Inc.; Yong Kim, Urban Design Associate at HyperBina Design Group; and Christine Rohrbeck, Principal of The Baupost Group, LLC.

Interviewed by Executive Editor Brian Vargo (MDes REBE 15), Dr. Bing Wang, Associate Professor in Practice of Real Estate and the Built Environment, provides an overview on the pedagogical foundations of real estate education at Harvard, highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary context at the GSD and the embodied creativity that is the core element of advancing innovation and leadership within the MDes REBE program.

Harvard GSD MDes Real Estate Open House Students Presentation

Spring, 2016

The presentation offered by Jordan Bruder (MDes REBE ’17) and Karen Chi-Chi Lin (MDes REBE ’17) that highlighted vast opportunities unique to Harvard GSD Real Estate and the Built Environment (REBE) students was received with great enthusiasm at the GSD MDes Program Open House held on April 8, 2016.

The two students’ presentation showcased the diverse academic and professional opportunities available to students of the Harvard GSD Real Estate and the Built Environment program as well as their individual leadership, active engagement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.  They presented their notable experiences and participations in student organizations (GSD RED Club and AREA), multi-disciplinary activities (Harvard Real Estate Venture Competition and ULI Hines Competition), and cross-school events such as Real Estate Weekend at Harvard and Re-Designing Real Estate Symposium at the GSD, among others.
