She was born and raised in Venezuela. She has conducted research on displacement and the scope of participatory design and planning in socio-spatial integration and the improvement of urban performance across cities in the Global South. An architect from Universidad Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar, Cristina is interested on cross-border governance, urban resilience, and the future of refugee communities worldwide. At the GSD, she was the editor for the Urban Review, the student journal on urban studies, and organized events and lectures as Co-Chair at Latin GSD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As a 2022 MCI Fellow, she conducted research on the commodification of landscapes and resources through tourism in the Yucatan Peninsula.
