Arianna Galán

Arianna M. Galán Montás is an Architectural Designer at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates in New York City, where she works on the development of international architectural and master planning projects. She received her Master in Architecture I from Harvard University Graduate School of Design in May 2016 and her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Urban Studies from University of Pennsylvania.

Arianna is passionate about sustainable design, social housing and urban planning and development. Her M.Arch.I thesis addressed the interrelationship between architecture, landscape, and urban form through the study of coastal mass tourism, a prevalent development strategy in the Global South and in her home country, the Dominican Republic. Most recently, her research work in the Yucatán Initiative enabled her to further engage in similar issues of housing, resilience and preservation in Latin America through the analysis of architectural typologies specific to the territory and their transformation over time.
