Housing and Habitus
Craft, politics and the production of housing in Oaxaca, Mexico
Studio 2015
This book presents a range of essays, research projects and design proposals developed during Spring 2015 at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Under the guidance of professors Diane E. Davis and Jose Castillo, 13 students explored housing complexities, challenges and opportunities in Mexico. The interdisciplinary studio focused on five sites in Metropolitican Oaxaca. All served as a basis for exploring and rethinking social housing production from an urban, social, economic and political perspective. The work presented in this book was supported by INFONAVIT, the National Workers’ Housing Authority in Mexico.
