China has the largest population of older people (age 65+) in the world, and its proportion is growing. Changing family structures and rapid population aging will stress social, economic, and health care infrastructure in China. China faces the need for major reforms in healthcare capacity, coverage, affordability, and access for rural populations, migrant workers, and an increasingly aging population.
